AfterScript will be a low-code Markdown framework that will enable software to be developed by non-developers. It will be as simple as Google Sheets / Excel formula and it will enable them to explain their functionality and structure in plain, readable Markdown. The expression of ideas will be in natural language and lightweight structure, which will be converted to working application logic in the background by the framework.
The site will be aimed at friction reduction in the creation process and be less technical in terms of its clarity. AfterScript will allow users to create flows, behaviours and simple interactions without seeing the complexity of traditional code through the use of Markdown as the main editor. This will simplify the process of prototype, experimentation and iteration and it will not be necessary to be afraid of breaking anything and be well versed in technical expertise.
Fundamentally, AfterScript will venture into a more human-centred software development. It will strive to connect the gap between concepts and implementation by adjusting to the way people think and write. The project will initially focus on accessibility, expressiveness and reducing the burden on the barrier to creating useful software, as opposed to being optimized with respect to speed or scale.
